What Is Energy Psychology?
Energy psychology is a controversial, but conventional
therapeutic intervention technique. Practitioners of the
mental health field often implement this therapeutic
method to initiate change of the internal well- being of
their clients. The practitioners consistently exclaim
that the techniques used are powerful and efficient tools
that have proven significant within the realm of clinical
treatment.
Although several techniques are implemented during this energy therapy, the process is actually "client- oriented" as
opposed to "technique-oriented." The intervention itself
is dependent upon the client's moment to moment needs.
Basically, the psychological treatments utilize the human
energy system, such as the meridian system, the chakra
system, or the aura system to restore healthy functioning. According to the energy psychology theory, painful physical, emotional, and spiritual symptoms are caused by a disruption in the energy systems. Ideally, the energy psychology techniques are effective for alleviating disturbed thought processes and negative emotions.
Psychological treatments include Thought Field Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, Release Technique, Be Set
Free Fast, Tapas Acupressure Technique, and many other
such therapies. Specific psychological intervention
procedures can shift the brain's electro-chemistry to help
overcome feelings of fear, guilt, shame, or anger. Energy
techniques may also treat distressing symptoms, to include painful memories, grief and traumatic experiences, and insecurity and low-self-esteem.
The Thought Field Energy, or TFE, is characterized as a fringe psychological treatment. Its proponents implicate
the relief of a variety of mental and physical ailments.
Specifically, it has proven to heal problems such as
psychological trauma; depression, phobia, anxiety, and
obsessive-compulsive disorder. This type of therapy is
conducted by "tapping" with the fingers at meridian points on the upper body and hands. The "tapping" treats the blockage in energy flow created by a disturbing thought pattern.
The Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT, is a form of alternative psychotherapy. The therapy method is based on the theory that negative emotions are caused by disturbances in the bodies energy system. The negative emotion is neutralized by "tapping" on acupuncture points while focusing on specific traumatic memory that inadvertently imbalanced the system. The Releasing Technique utilizes breaths and momentum to facilitate movement. It is primarily a dance technique that emphasizes the bodies natural alignment to release tension.
The Be Set Free Fast, or BSFF, therapeutic intervention
is a fluid, elegant system of dynamic interaction between the energy clinician and the client. Be Set Free Fast is a descriptive acronym for Behavioral and Emotional Symptom Elimination Training for Resolving Excess Emotion: Fear, Anger, Sadness, and Trauma. The complete therapy approach helps the client explore thoughts and feelings about the actual problem. Lastly, the Tapas Acupressure Technique, or TAT, is very controversial, yet it is productive for clearing negative emotions and past traumas. This energy therapy relies on the natural flow of putative energy. An application of light pressure to four (4) areas-inner corner of both eyes, a 1/2 inch above the space between the eyebrows, and the back of the head releases the blockage of natural flow to allow healing.
Energy psychology includes a multitude of therapeutic interventions to help a client work through a variety of issues. As most people can benefit from energy psychology, it may not work for every single client. The therapeutic technique is extensively powerful and is responsible for the breakthrough of emotional disturbance and bondage.
