About Connie
As a registered nurse, Connie Nies has devoted her talents to psychiatric nursing for nearly three decades. She is well respected for her non-drug approach to treating mental health disorders. She avoids recommending psychotropic drugs because of the harmful side effects many of these drugs cause in clients who use them. Her first commitment is to the overall health of her clients and, therefore, she promotes alternative health options to those in her care.
Dedicated to the task of educating others about the toxic impact psychotropic drugs have on the body, Connie is able to help those with mental health disorders discover non-drug strategies for treating a variety of mental illnesses. In so doing, it is her strongly held belief that by pursuing alternative treatment methods, she is helping clients avoid illnesses like diabetes and the suicidal tendencies that are sometimes triggered by certain drugs commonly used to treat mental disorders. As a registered nurse trained in traditional medicine, she also realizes that some mental health disorders are caused by physical ailments such as heart conditions, painful back conditions, asthma, and a host of other disorders that can cause depression and anxiety when left untreated. As these causes are often overlooked, many patients are misdiagnosed with a mental illness and prescribed a faulty treatment plan involving toxic psychotropic drugs. Due to her years of experience in both traditional and alternative medicine, she is trained to seek and recognize these underlying causes and is determined to raise awareness about such routine misdiagnoses one patient at a time.
